Things to Do in Falls Church

This beautiful, historic home is in mint Victorian-era condition and offers tours of its antiques as well as special tea services.

#2 Explore the Mosaic District: A big shopping center with a defining small-town feel, The Mosaic District charms locals with its quaint side streets, inviting grassy areas, fountains, and unique attractions like giant chairs and chessboards made for all to enjoy. #3 Browse the Local Farmer’s Market: Every Saturday morning, the parking lot in front of City Hall is transformed into a bustling town festival, complete with dozens of tents that offer not only produce, but also organic meats, pastries, pickles, drinks, and preserves — to name just a few. You’re in luck — Falls Church is an ideal spot for lovers of craft beer near and far, with many breweries in the area catering to a wide variety of tastes. Some local favorites? Caboose Commons and Settle Down Easy Brewing are each within Falls Church itself, while a quick Metro ride or Uber gets you to Bike Lane Brewing, Aslin Beer Company, and Lake Anne Brew House.

Where to Eat (& Drink) in Falls Church

#1 Taco Bamba: Victor Albisu’s renowned mini-chain of Mexican restaurants got its start right here. And since this is the original location, it’s fittingly still the place to find stellar tacos stuffed with everything from octopus to carnitas.

#2 Northside Social Falls Church: This all-day gathering place truly does it all. Not only is it a local haunt for coffee and pastries in the morning, but it also dishes out brunch on the weekends and pizza and wine in the evenings. The place comes from the owners of Arlington’s Liberty Tavern, who also run Liberty Barbecue in Falls Church.

#3 Pizzeria Orso: A casual neighborhood mainstay for Neapolitan pies (yes — they’re certified!), Italian small plates, and pastas, this bar is a go-to choice for locals looking for both a night on the town or a quick bite. Don’t miss half-priced wine night on Wednesday evenings!

How to Get Around

Despite its quintessential small-town vibes, Falls Church is only a short trip away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Residents and visitors can easily get around thanks to major thoroughfares like Interstate 66, Route 50, and I-495 (otherwise known as the Beltway). Not in the mood to drive? Simply hop on The Orange Line’s East and West Falls Church Metro Stations to get wherever you need to go!
