#5 Butler’s Orchard: Pick your own pumpkin at this classic fall festival, a favorite for anyone familiar with the seasonal scene in DC. Included with your ticket is access to the pumpkin patch, hayrides, a twisted corn maze, a playground, and tons of games.

#5 Clark’s Elioak Farm: This farm is truly magical for young kids, featuring a fairy garden, an enchanted forest, story time, and more. If you’re looking to get close to cute farm animals, there’s also a petting zoo. And from mid September through Halloween, you can even pick a child-sized pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, as well as larger pumpkins and gourds from the farmer’s market.

#6 Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch: Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch is open daily from late September through Halloween. Weekday admission is free and includes a large selection of pumpkins and mums, fall shopping, and a petting zoo. On Fridays, guests can also enjoy hayrides to the pumpkin patch, multiple play areas, and (for a fee) a 20-acre corn maze.

#7 Larriland Farm: There’s no better place to savor the season’s show-stopping fall display than Larriland Farm in Woodbine, Maryland. The farm goes all out for Halloween, brimming with spooky decorations like ghosts and goblins that give festive frights. The fields, meanwhile, are laden with crisp, succulent vegetables, and the orchards are bent down with apples. It is, after all, the last harvest to reap before the cold winter sets in.
