In DC, June doesn’t just mark the beginning of summer, it signals the arrival of Capital Pride, a tribute to the resilience, struggles, and enduring spirit of the LGBTQ+ community.

#1 Opening Party: Kick off your Pride weekend at DC’s largest Pride party — it’s truly a riot. Dance the night away at Echostage with performances from local, national and world-famous queer artists including headliner Sapphira Cristál of Rupaul’s Drag Races. The event is for ages 18 and over.

#2 Pride Parade: Celebrate with the LGBTQ+ community and its allies at the historic Capital Pride Parade on Saturday, June 8th from 3-7:30 PM! The beloved tradition honors LGBTQ+ history and acknowledges the evolution of the LGBTQ+ neighborhoods in Washington, DC, while respecting the origins and importance of taking to the streets in the fight for equality. Get ready to experience one of the largest Pride Parades to ever take place in the Nation’s Capital. Entry to the Pride Parade is free and open to the public.

#3 Rooftop Pool Party: Gather under the stars on June 20th for a relaxing evening with volunteers, partners, donors, advocates, and supporters of the Capital Pride Alliance. Enjoy music, some cocktails, and appetizers, not to mention mingling with some special guests and cooling off in the pool. The event is for ages 21 and over only.

#4 Festival & Concert: America’s Mainstreet, the historic Pennsylvania Avenue, becomes Capital Pride Central during this epic festival on June 9th that lets DC’s LGBTQ+ community truly shine. Then, turn things up as concert headliners Billy Porter and Keke Palmer, plus Ava Max, Exposé and Sapphira Cristál, take to the stage in front of the U.S. Capitol. Enjoy entertainment across three stages, food, beverages and a chance to meet with more than 300 exhibitors, including local and national advocacy groups. Entry is free and open to the public.

#5 Pride On The Pier: If you’re looking for a less crowded alternative to enjoying the Pride festivities, then Pride on the Pier at the Wharf (Saturday June 8th from 2-10 PM) might be the event for you. The fourth annual celebration includes live music, dancing, a screening of the Pride Parade, and a fireworks finale over the waterfront.

#6 DC Front Runners Pride Run: Join fellow runners at the 12th annual Pride Run 5K at the Historic Congressional Cemetery on Friday, June 7, 2024.  Registration is $45 and includes a commemorative t-shirt, medal, after party with a live DJ, drag performances, and beer/hard seltzer provided by DC Brau. Come join over 1,200 racers as they kick off Pride weekend 2024 with a running start — every dollar donated goes directly to a charity of your choice!
