#1 Luckett’s Holiday House
Every holiday season, this century-old farmhouse transforms into a curated and highly decorative winter wonderland. In addition to wandering through the multi-room shopping experience, guests can view holiday murals and photo vignettes on the Luckett’s grounds and sip drinks from Vanish Brewery by a campfire.
#2 Downtown Holiday Market
Two blocks of F Street — from 7th to 9th NW — make up downtown DC’s outdoor holiday shopping village, which runs through December 23rd. You can buy bites and hot beverages while you shop, not to mention browse seasonal goods from more than 70 exhibitors. This year, they’re even adding a stage for live entertainment and performances!
#3 Holiday Market at Dupont Circle
The DC Holiday Market returns on Friday, November 14th this year at 11 Dupont Circle on New Hampshire Ave NW, just a block east of last year’s spot. Featuring 35+ local artisans, boutique brands, and unique handcrafted gifts, the market brings its festive décor and signature holiday cheer to the heart of Dupont Circle, steps from Kramer’s Books & Café.

#4 Maryland Christmas Show
Skip the crowded malls and long lines — this Black Friday, make your holiday shopping an experience to remember! The Maryland Christmas Show, a beloved family-owned arts & crafts event, returns for its 42nd season in historic Frederick City. Over the course of the weekend, visitors can explore a curated collection of unique gifts from talented artisans and merchants, perfect for everyone on your list. From handcrafted décor to one-of-a-kind treasures, this is Maryland’s premier Christmas shopping destination — where holiday spirit and shopping go hand in hand.
#5 Heurich Christmas Market
Thursday, December 4th through Sunday, December 7th, the Heurich House Museum will host DC’s only multi-day holiday market featuring all local makers. Inspired by traditional German Christmas markets, Christmas Market will bring together 40–50 DMV-based artisans in the museum’s charming Castle Garden. As the museum’s largest annual fundraiser, the event supports year-round programs at Heurich Urban Manufacturing Incubator, which in 2024 helped over 300 local small-scale manufacturing businesses.
#6 Old Town Market & Holiday Craft Show
On Saturday, December 13th from 11 AM to 4 PM, John Carlyle Square in Old Town Alexandria will set the scene for the biggest Christmas market of the season. Explore unique gifts, holiday décor, and more from talented local artisans, with carolers and a DJ spinning classics to set the holiday mood. It’s the perfect spot to kick off festive shopping and soak up the spirit of the season.

#7 Procrastinator’s Holiday Market
Now in its 11th year, the Procrastinator’s Holiday Market (PHM) is the go-to spot for last-minute shoppers, local makers, and community supporters alike. Part of the new month-long It’s a Wonderful Ward celebration from DC², the season kicks off on December 6th at the Winter Festival @ the US National Arboretum and continues with neighborhood drives and swap stations throughout Ward 5.
