From a young age, Marc Ross has always had a talent for elevating the places and people around him.
Growing up in Northwest DC, Marc saw the city as his backyard, immersed in a continual exploration to uncover the food, fun, and real estate that reflected its history and spirit.
After attending DC’s prestigious Corcoran College of Art and Design—where he honed his eye for design—Marc launched his career with a local furniture company, spending his days collaborating with interior designers, architects, and design showrooms across the US to reimagine client spaces.
Although Marc thrived in the world of design, he was perpetually drawn to real estate, captivated by the possibility of guiding clients through the entire process of buying or selling a home. So, he made the move in 2012 and hasn’t looked back since.
Nine years on, Marc has built a successful real estate business as a founding member of The Jenn Smira Team, one of the top five agent groups in all of DC. Marc is best known by clients today for his unrivalled market expertise, one-stop-shop service philosophy, and strategic approach to finding solutions for even the toughest of roadblocks. Marc also believes in the value of transparent communication, constantly working to arm his clients with the information they need to make informed decisions at every step of the way.
Over the years, Marc has cultivated a remarkably extensive local network, one that he attributes to the lasting connections he’s forged with clients who continually place their trust in him when navigating such a meaningful life milestone. It’s little surprise, then, that he’s sold over $150 million in real estate under the age of 35 and having been involved in upwards of over 250 homes sold. Despite his accomplishments, though, it’s never been about the numbers for Marc, but rather, the outcomes he creates for his clients.
For sellers, Marc channels his design prowess to curate the right look and feel for each listing, ensuring that no detail is overlooked—from staging to photography, artwork, tiles, and beyond. And when it comes to buyers, Marc’s vast local expertise shines through in his work with clients at all price points and phases of life—helping first-time buyers and investors alike to find the home of their dreams. Marc has also built relationships with many of the area’s top developers, having taken part in the sale of several of DC’s premier new developments over the past six years.
True to his roots, Marc strives to make a positive impact on the world around him—through both his role as a Realtor and his commitment to the city he calls home. Marc’s dedication to local causes is evidenced in part by his ongoing engagement with the H Street NE community, where he lived for the past ten years. It was here that Marc’s philanthropic passions first blossomed, culminating in his formative work with GrantEd Foundation, Taste of H Street, and J.O. Wilson Elementary causes that he continues to support and that helped make this neighborhood the place it is today. Marc has also been a top agent in 20002 for three years running and is still known for the neighborhood soirées he once threw. His personal and professional investment in the area earned him the nickname “Mayor of H Street”, a moniker neighbors affectionately bestowed as a playful—yet fitting—tribute to his lasting influence on this community.
When Marc’s not spending time with his clients, he can be found hosting get-togethers with his husband, walking his pup, Honey Bear, and keeping a pulse on all that DC has to offer.
